There was a tons of people enjoying Rock'N'ROLL music by Jumpin' Jupiter and great draft beer! 37th Smithsonian Folklife Festival
The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is a DC treasure, an outdoor cultural exhibit. Every summer for the past 37 years, the Smithsonian Institution transforms the National Mall into an outdoor museum of sounds, sights, and tastes. The 2003 Folklife Festival explores the cultural traditions of Mali, Scotland, and Appalachia. Exhibits include, Mali: From Timbuktu to Washington, Scotland at the Smithsonian, and Appalachia: Heritage and Harmony. Glimpses into the traditional and modern cultures represented at the 2003 Festival, are offered through craft and textile demonstrations, music performances, storytelling, an instructional kitchen, architecture, and much more. Skilled representatives from Mali, Scotland, and Appalachia come to the National Mall, creating a rare opportunity to learn first-hand about the exhibited cultures.
2005 Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows
The 24th Annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Show displayed the latest street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, ATVs, wave runners and all the apparel that gave a complete motorcycle experience. The traveling show recently posted the largest attendance in its 20+ year history, with a staggering 528,735 motorcycle and off-roading enthusiasts.

United States Secret Service Golf Tournament
On Friday, October 20, 2006, the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division Benefit Fund hosted their 1st Charity Golf Tournament at the Fairfax National Golf Course. The Secret Service Uniformed Division, initially a force comprised of a few members of the military and the Metropolitan Police Department, began formalized protection of the White House and its grounds in 1860. This unit was under the direction of the White House Military Aide until 1922 when President Warren G. Harding prompted the establishment of a White House Police Force. Officers of the Uniformed Division carry out their protective responsibilities through special support units (Countersniper, Canine Explosive Detection Team, Emergency Response Team, Crime Scene Search Technicians, Special Operations Section, Magnetometers) and a network of fixed security...
Washington DC Oscar Night Party
The snow did not stop Oscar Night DC from holding their annual party. Despite the miserable weather, Left Bank, a wired bistro in Adams Morgan was the place to be to watch the 79th Annual Academy Awards ceremony in style. For a small fee this event included a lavish dinner, and special event drinks, honoring the Oscar Nominees. In addition, prizes were awarded for best dressed male and female, and a first and second place prize for the person guessing the most correct Academy winners.

Live on Penn is an open-air summer concert series running every Saturday, through Sept. 6th, 2003, on Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd and 6th streets. The 10-week concert series showcases national and local recording artists from 4 pm to 10 pm.
