Masonic Emblematic Chart
THE ALL SEEING EYE. Whom the Sun, Moon, and Stars obey, and under whose watchful care even Comets perform their stupendous revolutions, pervades the inmost recesses of the human Heart, and will reward us according to our merits.
RAYS OF GLORY. Symbolic of the power of the Supreme Being to penetrate the innermost reaches of the human heart.
SUN. One of the Lesser light as a source of light it reminds the Mason of that intellectual light of which he is in constant search.
THE SUN. Emblem of strength. It is the sun that rules and divides the seasons. Representing Orisis
THE CRESCENT, OR HALF MOON. Emblem of temporal power. It is the moon that establishes weeks, months, and years. Representing Isis
SEVEN SIX-POINTED STARS. These position of the stars represent the Taurus constellation and were called by the Romans Vergili, or Virgins of Spring. The number SEVEN represents the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences: Grammar, Rhetoric, Logic, Arithmetic, Geometry, Music and Astronomy. A six pointed star represents the double equilateral triangle is one of the most sacred of all the emblems of Pythagoras, and was revered for ages as the seal of King Solomon.
THE DIVINE ARK. which safely wafts us over this tempestuous sea of troubles.
THE ANCHOR. which shall safely moor us in a peaceful harbor, where the wicked cease from troubling, and weary shall find rest.
GEOMETRY. As you enter the world of Geometry you begin to see the wonderfully patterned beauty of Creation. The ancients believed that Geometry was key to understanding our own mind, body, and, spirit.
COMPASS. the proper Masonic emblem of the Craft, and one of the Great Lights in Freemasonry.
FIVE-POINTED STAR. This emblem represents the five points of fellowship.
THE TERRESTRIAL AND CELESTIAL GLOBES are two artificial and spherical bodies, on the convex surface of which are represented the countries, seas, and various parts of the earth, the face of heavens, the planetary revolutions, and other particulars.
TWO PILLARS. represent the pillars Jachin (founding) and Boaz (fleetness, strength) which Hiram of Tyre made for Solomon, and set one on either side of the porch (entrance) to the Temple, to commemorate the pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night which guided the Israelites in their forty years' wanderings in the wilderness.
THE HOUR GLASS. Is an emblem of human life. Behold how swiftly the sands run, and how rapidly our lives are drawing to a close.
THE SCYTHE. Is an emblem of time, which cuts the brittle thread of life and launches us into eternity.
JACOB'S LADDER. Ascending from earth to heaven. The three principal rounds are denominated FAITH, HOPE, and CHARITY.
THE POT OF INCENSE. An emblem of a pure heart.
THE BOOK OF CONSTITUTIONS, GUARDED BY THE TYLER'S SWORD. An emblem to remind us that we should be ever watchful and guarded in our words and actions.
POINT WITHIN A CIRCLE. The point represents an individual Brother, the circle the boundary line of his duty to God and man, and the two perpendicular parallel lines the patron saints of the Order-Saint John the Baptist and Saint John the Evangelist. With a straight edge draw a line across through its center. Upon the vertex rests the Bible with point out the whole duty of man. This a emblem is also a stone mason's way to make a perfect square.
THE HAMMER. A symbol of conscience or man's knowledge of his thoughts and premeditate actions, which should curb all vanity and worldly-mindness which interfere with purity of heart essential to a good Mason.
CABLE TOW. A rope or line for drawing or leading. A compound word of Masonic coinage combining cable (a rope) and tow (a rope for pulling). Symbolically, it represents the covenant by which all Masons are bound; the tie by which the candidate is bound to his brethren; the length of a Mason's cable tow is the scope of his ability to go to the relief of a brother in need.
THE SPADE. An instrument used to spread the spreading the cement of brotherly love and affection; that cement which unites us into one sacred band, or society of friends and brothers, among whom no contention should ever exist, but that noble contention, or rather emulation, of who best can work and best agree.
THE SQUARE. An emblem of the divine mind and represents morality and virtue.
THE LEVEL. Is the emblem of Equality, and reminds us that we are descended from the same stock, partake of the same nature, and share the same hope.
THE PLUMB-RULE. Is the emblem of Justness and Uprightness, and admonishes us to hold the scales of Justice with an equal poise, and to make our conduct coincide with the line of our duty, which is to walk uprightly before the Grand Geometrician, and Man.
SWORD POINTING TO THE NAKED HEART. This emblem demonstrates that justice will sooner or later overtake us.
THE BEEHIVE. An emblem of industry, and recommends we all should be industrious (Busy Bees) and sit down content while our fellow beings are in want.

THE RIGHT ANGLE. Emblem of morality and justice.
