Not a Union Jack

That's a Grand Union flag. It symbolized the Union of Scotland and England. Note the absence of the red "X" or "Cross of St. Patrick" that wasn't added until, I believe, 1801. After the addition the third cross, which represents Ireland, it became known as the Union Jack.

The Autumn 18th Century Market Fair is in October (20-21). However, you can visit the Farm with your family any day Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Hope your stay in the DC area is enjoyable.
