The souvenir album of photolithograph images of Washington, called "Washington Album", which was published by Ph. Frey, Louis Glaser, and J. F. Jarvis, was not dated. The catalogers who assessed the book thought that it was published between 1889 and 1893.

Souvenir illustrations of monuments in albums appeared throughout the United States and Canada in the late nineteenth century. These plates were all manufactured in Germany by what became known as the Glaser/Frey lithographic process.
