William S. Schuyler Apron

The apron shows the three levels of King Solomon's temple.
Outside the Portico on either side of the entrance, two Pillars were erected.

The first apron was worn by Hiram Abif, the legendary founder of the brotherhood of Masons. The apron signifies the secret knowledge possessed by the Freemason which enables him to gain access to any Masonic lodge through the use of grips, passwords, and signs.

great book

I have read this book and found it a quick read with lots of interesting information about our Nation's Capitol. The Secrets of Masonic Washington shows the reader how much symbolism Washington, DC has in its buildings and overall design.
