Dan Snyder Defeats Washington Redskins

Sentiments about the Dan Snyder era... "At least the Redskins can't lose a bye week." A long shout of boo began after Brian Mitchell's thanks to Dan Snyder. Brian shouted, "No. Don't do that. Wait!" Fan vs. Owner resentment started during the Redskins loss agains the winless Chiefs. It was 3rd quarter, Washington had turned over the football again. Jason Campbell got benched. Collins did worse. Joe Bugel's offensive line was not worth a damn. The Dream Seat section began chanting, "Snyder Sucks! Snyder Sucks! Snyder Sucks!" These premium season ticket holders are contracted to pay Snyder Management $500 a seat per game. The face value of one premium ticket during the Redskins vs. Eagles game was $125.00 per seat. This points to a major fan market decline. Management is upset that the fans are not getting good entertainment. The fans...

Although, as of this writing (8OCT2009), the President's approval rating has gone from 50% to 56% since September of 2009 and the first time the poll has seen an increase since January, when he was elected (the Associated Press/GfK poll). He spoke of American coming together as a nation and putting our political differences aside for the good of those who are not fortunate enough to have health insurance. "Fired Up? Ready to Roll" was a rallying phrase the President had used the previous year with great success and which he alluded to during an anecdotal story toward the end of the speech. Union Station in Washington DC

Opened on October 27, 1907 and completed in 1908, Union Station is considered to be one of the finest examples of the Beaux-Arts style of architecture. Architect, Daniel Burnham designed the building to be monumental in every respect and to serve as a gateway for the capital city.

At the time it was built, the Station covered more ground than any other building in the United States and was the largest train station in the world. The Station sits on the edge of an area once known as "Swam poodle," an infamous shantytown located on the sewer-y remnants of Tiber Creek. The total area occupied by the Station and the terminal zone was originally about 200 acres and included 75 miles of tracks. In fact, if put on its side, the Washington Monument could lie within the confines of the Station's concourse.
