"THE" Bell Aircraft XP-59A Airacomet.
This was first US Jet Aircraft. First flown in 1942 using teh GE model 1-a engine (an improved version of the original "whittle" engine. The aircraft seen here was secretly transported with a "false" nose and propellor to disguise the actual nature of the beast. From this begining, the Lockheed P-80 emerged as the 1st operational military jet fighter.
