North view of the Masonic Temple

The National Masonic temple stands 333 feet high and was constructed entirely with contributions from members of the Masonic Fraternity and dedicated to the memory of perhaps the most famous Mason: George Washington, on May 12, l932.

The tower sections are Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. The tower is capped with an Egyptian pyramidPyramid

, and capped with a flame-like finial, as a homage to the lighthouse of Alexandria.
