I REGRET I EVER WENT TO STRAYER UNIVERSITY 1 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: Sweet, Thu Dec 07 2006

This school is highly over rated and I hate that I ever attended. The tuition is 16,000 for a fulltime student for one school year. They claim that the reason that the tuition is so high is because they are a private institution. They have no school organizations, no clubs, basketball team, football team....nothing!! So what the hell am I getting for my money.....nothing. They have small computer labs, no copier for students to use (I was given the evil eye when I used the faculty copier), I asked for a tutor for an online class I was taking only to be met by someone who told me she didn't know one thing about the course I was taking. The online class grades are electronically graded half the time so the teachers are not taking much time to grade or help students or anything. They only have one accreditation in which most 4 year schools have accreditations by departments (and their tuition is less). They have no scholarships or grants offered by this school. This school is a rip off and is just trying to get rich off of students. They make their tuitions high because active duty military have tuition assistance that pays 100% of their tuition along with major corporate companies. They intentionally locate themselves near bases just for this reason. So no matter how high they raise the tuition, they know they will get paid. But for someone like myself, I am incurring huge debt just by trying to get higher education. There are no other choices for obtaining a Bachelor's degree where I live so everyone goes to Strayer. (And they know this) I will have my degree, but I will be heavily in debt upon finishing. I have acquired debt that some students getting their PhD’s don't even incur.
