Senate Square was intended to be condos, but the building transitioned to apartments because of the flagging economy. Now, the rents are exorbitant, 80% of the apartments are empty and there are no condo fees to pay for maintaining the property. A super-friendly staff and great cookies can't make up for a broken security system, one concierge shared between three buildings and indifferent managers concerned solely with the bottom line. Employees of the new administration might provide Senate Square with a surge of tenants and much-needed cashflow for building and amenities maintenance. At the moment, however, there are better rental options.
