Step inside La Perla and take a culinary journey through Italy. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted by Chef Vittorio Testa. 2600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW 202.333-1767
Wonderful Food, Impeccable Service, Wonderfully Charming

I have been to La Perla twice now, and I can honestly say that the overall experience of this restaurant tops all other Italian places in DC....The wine list is more than adequate, and not cookie cutter vintages either...The entrees are varied, from pheasant to filet to a vast seafood selection....The food has been exquisite on each of my visits, for both my daughter and I....The service is premium, and to me, that is almost as important as the food itself...The ambience is quiet and charming, kind of like a restaurant villa you might run into in Naples...Overall, just a pleasure to the palate and a dining treat..

Horrible
Reviewed by: Eri, Mon Feb 12 2007
Not only was the food horrible, but Vitorio (the chef/owner?) did not even deduct the bottle of water from our check. We paid around $100 for a meal that was disgusting, and furthermore, we had to spend another $10 to go fill up at Miki D's. Miki D's tasted a million times better. Do not waste your time/money in this place. It is not worth it. The chef offered to have us come back for a free meal--if he gave me a free meal, and paid me to sit in his restaurant, I would rather sit at home and have pizza.
