For the 2001 White House holiday theme, Laura Bush chose "Home for the Holidays" to celebrate the joy of family and loved ones. "Because this year's holday season follows a national tragedy, both home and family have speacial meaning to all Americans," said Mrs. Bush. "Gatherings of loved ones - familiar faces in familiar places - can be a tremendous source of strength and reassurance during this season of rememberance and goodwill."

 | As is the tradition, the official White House Christmas tree stands in the Blue Room. The 2001 tree was a wonderous 18-foot Concolor fir, grown in the mountains of Pennsylvania. To read our Christmas tree presentation article click here.
