Mars Millennium Project
The Mars Millenium Project, launched in ``January 1999, is an interdisciplinary ``learning program that engages kindergarten ``through high-school students in classrooms ``and youth groups throughout the United ``States to work together to design a ``livable community on Mars in the year ``2030. Working in teams and with educators, ``community leaders and others, young people ``will weave the arts, science and the ``humanities into an exploration of their ``own communities and then apply what they ``learn to the future.

Millenium Trails
Millennium Trails is a national initiative to spark the creation of more than 2000 recreational, scenic and historic trails. Millennium Trails will protect open spaces, interpret history and culture and enhance recreation and tourism. In June 1999 the First Landy and Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater announced the designation of 16 National Mellennium Trails -- ranging from the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail to the Applacian National Scenic Trail -- which symbolize the breadth and scope of the trails movement in America.

Millennium Evenings at the White House are a series of lectures and discussions, led by the First Lady and the President, that explore our history, the riches of America's poetry and music, and meaning of scientific discoveries.

Save America's Treasures enlists enthusiastic support from many citizens and private groups. The First Lady serves as honorary chair of the Millennium Committee to Save America's Treasures which, in cooperation with the National Trust for Historic Preservation has raised over $37 million in private funding to support preservation projects.
