The Maryland Exiles field both boys and girls high school age teams playing 15's rugby in the spring. In the summer, the focus turns to youth rugby with teams between the ages of 17 and 6 playing both contact and noncontact rugby sevens. We're looking for both coaches and players. Come out and get involved!

The Washington Irish RFC was conceived in the dark and dreary Foggy Bottom autumn of 1979, in the profoundly disturbed minds of a few renegades from the then-dormant rugby club of The American University. These rambunctious lads fancied themselves exiles from the old AU club, and when they noted the preponderance of Mc's and O's in their midst, it seemed only logical to form a club that would bear the name of the great exile clubs throughout the world: THE IRISH.

The Washington Renegades Rugby Football Club Inc. is a Division III club that actively recruits gay men and men of color from across the Washington, D.C., region. Established in October 1998, the Washington Renegades RFC is a member of the Potomac Rugby Union, the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Union, and the United States of America Rugby Football Union. In October 1999, the club played its first match, against the Roanoke Rugby Football Club. Since then, the club has played a competitive match schedule against local area rugby clubs.
