City Club of Washington’s locations, Columbia Square and Franklin Square are located in the heart of the prominent legal, business, and theater district. In the mid 1980's, prominent downtown Washington leaders were seeking a business and social club environment which would offer fine cuisine and attentive service in a setting of privacy and tradition. City Club of Washington was conceived in 1987 as a most distinguished private club, which would fulfill their needs and be easily accessible to the political, legal and business communities.
