- On a recent two day getaway, my fiancee and I decided to travel about ½ hour north of Washington, D.C. to Buckeystown, Md. We stayed at a circa 1780 manor house, The Catoctin Inn and Conference Center. Our stay at the inn was everything we would have expected. We chose the Bucky's Cottage, a self standing little cottage off the main house which included a loft with kingsize bed, private bath with jaccuzi, fireplace, and complete kitchen. A constant reminder that we were staying in a place centuries old was the low entryways into the different rooms. Anyone over 6' tall remember to duck. ``The staff was very helpful with places of interest to visit.
