- One of America's top Fairs in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley is now 50 years old...In 1980, the first fair was held at the present site on U. S. Route 11 South of Harrisonburg. The Fair Association has 111 acres of land, a 21,000 square foot exhibit hall for display of local creative arts, homemaking skills and commercial exhibits; a livestock exhibition center of 63,000 square feet for showcasing hogs, sheep, beef cattle and dairy cattle and goats; a building for horticutlure, flowers and farm crops displays; a building for poultry and rabbit exhibits; and food booths run by local civic clubs. The grandstand seats over 2,500 persons.

Special entertainment includes spectacular hot air balloons and concerts. The successful features of the past several years such as the Birthing Center, Barn Tours, On The Farm Game Show and Breed Displays will be returning as well. New features include a Senior Village, Endangered Cats of the World, a NASA display and a NASA sponsored Robotics Competition for high school students. There will be five exciting concerts this year.
