The nationally famous Yacht Club of Bethesda is now celebrating 130 engagements and/or marriages since we began our “imaginary cruises” for people over 30 in 1989. It was dubbed the “Love Boat in Bethesda”, and the “Home of Tommy the Matchmaker” in national and local press coverage including ABC News, The Washington Post, USA Today, CNN Online, CBS Radio, PBS, and all of Washington’s local television stations.

Zanzibar's is directly in front of the Southwest Waterfront Marina, and is beside the Channel Inn Hotel and near the Lowes L'Enfant Plaza Hotel, Arena Stage, the Odyssey and Spirit of Washington cruise lines are nearby. The rear of our property includes a deck and walkway that provides an unimpeded view of the marina, East Potomac Park and sunsets on the Washington Channel. On the fourth of July, guests can view the breath-taking fireworks display at the Washington Monument from our deck or patio.
