Since 1979, WMUC 88.1 FM has offered a free-form alternative to "typical" radio programming. At 10 watts, WMUC-FM covers the College Park area, a good-sized chunk of D.C., and assorted suburbs in 2 counties. WTMD is a non-profit listener supported public radio station which broadcasts at 89.7 Mhz from Towson University. At a power of 10,016 watts, the station has listener support in four states (Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia) and the District of Columbia. WTMD's programming consists of new adult contemporary music for the 90's. The Breeze is a unique music service growing in popularity, not duplicated by any other station in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. WTMD is professionally managed and student operated and has been in existance since 1976.
