The Uptown is the last movie palace in Washington, DC still showing first run films. Known for having the largest screen in DC (its curved screen measures 32 feet x 70 feet), the Uptown has been the best place to see event movies over the past 30 plus years.

The Bengies Drive-In Theatre features the BIGGEST movie theatre screen on the entire East Coast (measuring 52 feet high and 120 feet wide). The Bengies Drive-In Theatre also has Triple features on almost every Friday and Saturday night, cartoons, vintage trailers and intermissions clips, in-car heaters and dusk till dawn shows. Please note that a radio is required to listen to the movies and you'll be glad you have one because our state-of-the-art FM broadcast system will impress you. AM broadcast is provided as well for your convenience.

The Bethesda Row Cinema is located in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland's Central Business District. The new cinema features the finest in independent film and foreign language cinema and is part of a new 140,000 square foot building. Each auditorium in the theatre features stadium seating and wall-to-wall screens, augmented with sound systems incorporating the latest digital sound technology. Other amenities include a theatre espresso bar offering locally produced baked goods as well as a traditional concession stand.

Discovery Theater, a division of The Smithsonian Associates, presents live theater performances for children in its own theater, located in the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building on the National Mall. Performances are open to the public, while advanced reservations may be arranged for school groups, youth organizations, and families with children.

RESERVATIONS may be made by phone, beginning one week before any given show. during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm); you may also request to be added to the mailing list then. Reserved seats must be claimed at least 10 minutes before showtime, after which standbys will be admitted to unclaimed seats. All programs are free, but seating is limited to 64 seats. The Mary Pickford Theater is located on the third floor of the Library of Congress Madison building.
