The Latin American Youth Center (LAYC), a community-based youth and family development organization, offers programs and opportunities for over 5,000 individuals annually, from infancythrough adulthood. The center's comprehensive educational, human development, vocational,residential, recreational, and cultural programs are tied to rebuilding healthy neighborhoods in a safe and secure environment.The LAYC has been recognized on a local and national level as a model program for Latino and muticultural children, youth, and families.

The story of Latino immigrants to Washington, D.C., is largely untold. This exhibition will introduce both Latinos and non-Latino audiences to Latino history and culture through the voices of some of the people who have come to form this community. The exhibition will be complemented with interactive educational workshops on oral histories and artifact collecting for teachers, students, community members and the general public.
